Fujio Ishimoto is a Japanese textile and ceramic artist who worked on numerous prints at the Marimekko design house from 1974 to 2006.
A master of various styles and techniques, Ishimoto has created approximately 400 fabric prints for Marimekko. Most of his designs are inspired by nature. He also possesses a remarkable talent for creating moods through color. Ishimoto's patterns, such as Kuiskaus (whisper), Lepo (rest), and Ostjakki, are all widely loved classic prints.
